Lein Applied Diagnostics has an innovative optical technology that makes high-precision, non-contacting measurements for the following complementary markets; high-resolution metrology (we measure surface location, shape, material thickness, composition and refractive index), mass healthcare monitoring, Alzheimer’s disease, cholesterol levels and diabetes care (we are developing a handheld meter to replace the current finger stick meters for glucose monitoring). Lein’s scanning confocal and interferometer technologies are compact, cost effective and are non-contacting so can measure the item under test in situ without disturbing it. This is of benefit in medical and clinical applications where measurements are made both in vitro and in vivo. Lein works as a consultancy with customers to solve their complex measurement and metrology problems. This consultancy involves Lein designing the meter on the customer’s behalf then supporting the development through to CE marking and production
